Wireless packet scheduling in an integrated CDMA system using channel status information

چکیده
A Fair Queueing Algorithm is proposed for data services in an integrated voice/data CDMA system. After delay-sensitive voice users are allocated first, then residual resources are allocated to data users according to the throughput maximization strategy. In order to fairly allocate data users, we use power resource concept which considers the BER and the rate requirement of data users, and apply WFQ (weighted fair queueing) to CDMA systems with consideration of a GPS fluid-flow model. In order to implement this fair resource allocation scheme, a virtual clock for short-term fairness and a credit table method for long-term fairness are used. Based on these concepts, we propose WFQS(Weighted Fair Queueing with State Control). This scheme allocates resources in the consideration of each channel state. When this scheme is applied to wireless channels, the throughput and delay of data services are shown. Numerical results show that the throughput of each data user has the same characteristics under wireless channel conditions. The throughput of data users can also be increased compared with a conventional WFQ scheme because available resources for data users in bad state are used by other users in good state. Packet Fair Queueing Scheduling in an Integrated CDMA System Based on Channel Status Information
A Fair Queueing Algorithm is proposed for data services in an integrated voice/data CDMA system. We introduce short-term and long-term fairness concepts to allocate data users fairly. Using these concepts, we propose Weighted Fair Queueing with Status Control(WFQS) in the consideration of a Generalized Processor Sharing(GPS) ¤uid-¤ow model. This proposed scheme allocates resources using channel...
متن کاملScheduling with base station diversity and fairness analysis for the downlink of CDMA cellular networks
Efficient packet scheduling in CDMA cellular networks is a challenging problem due to the time variant and stochastic nature of the channel fading process. Selection diversity is one of the most effective techniques utilizing random and independent variations of diverse channels to improve the performance of communication over fading channels. In this paper, we propose two packet scheduling sch...
متن کاملChannel adaptive fair scheduling for CDMA/TDD downlink packet communications
In this paper we carry out a comparative study of different dynamic greedy frame-by-frame packet scheduling strategies with QoS guarantees. The considered environment is the downlink of a locally centralized (or bunched) CDMA/TDD wireless communication system. In particular, in order to address the trade-off between throughput and fairness, we first analyze the system performance using system-l...
متن کاملA New Medium Access Control Protocol for TDD Mode Wideband CDMA Wireless Local Area Networks
It is well known that TDD mode wideband CDMA is particularly suited for wireless local area networks (LANs). In this paper a medium access control (MAC) protocol is proposed for wireless multimedia LANs that are based on TDD mode wideband CDMA. In order to minimize interference experienced by a packet and to satisfy bit error rates (BERs) of multimedia traffic, a minimum-power allocation algori...
متن کاملCapacity analysis and call admission techniques for CDMA packet transmission systems
In this paper, a capacity analysis in order to set an effective threshold for connection admission control (CAC) associated to the reverse link of a multimedia wireless communication system using CDMA has been developed. Packet transmission has been considered for both real time and non real time services. A centralized demand assignment algorithm has been implemented in order to provide QoS. P...
